Result: outrage, and Bluecurve died the death of a thousand weak nerd-slaps. Jakub Stein's work on GNOME 3 is the best in the whole industry. How _dare_ RH make their lovely German desktop look like GNOME with GNOME icons and GNOME themes? Well, you know what, I don't like GNOME much either, but it has the best graphic design outside of ElementaryOS. Predictably, the KDE fanboys screamed in rage. Red Hat Linux with its Bluecurve them made it look *good*. They turned off most of the BS and the bloat, slapped a WinXP look and feel on it, and it became pleasant to use. It's one reason I can't use it.Ĭorel LinuxOS and later Xandros made KDE 2.x usable and inoffensive.

For me virtually all versions of KDE since then end of the KDE 1.x release series have been retina-burningly fugly.
